iSURVEY Academy

iSURVEY’s competence assurance scheme for our offshore personnel is based on IMCA’s Guidance on Competence
Assurance and Assessment for their Offshore Survey Division. This scheme includes ‘mapping’ of all personnel
capabilities, as well as a training program through iSURVEY’s Academy, involving both practical and theoretical
training, to build a more competent and productive workforce operating with reduced risk, shorter downtime
and fewer injuries.

IMCA Guidelines

Competency

iSURVEY has developed an internal competence scheme with the overall goal of increasing the competence of its workforce. Relevant competencies have been developed in-line with the IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) framework and these look at increasing employee productivity, operating with reduced risk and shorter downtime and ensuring minimal injuries. Using these standards within quality and safety, iSURVEY develops, demonstrates and assesses competence.

Outlined in the image above, there are a number of key roles under the scheme, each with a pre-agreed set of performance requirements. These are assessed by a senior surveyor who verifies that the candidate has the required knowledge and skills.

Training Programme

Based on our competence scheme, iSURVEY has introduced Trainingportal, a learning and competence management system. This enables tracking of the online learning modules and when a competence has been completed it is then approved in Trainingportal. This assists line management to plan targeted development actions as required. The iSURVEY Training Academy is a key element in developing the company’s personnel, motivating the team and ensuring the best solutions are developed for its customers.
